Dianna's Corner//Just Be Happy

"Happiness can not be traveled to,  owned, earned, worn, or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude"
-Denis Waitley-

This is one of my favorite quotes on happiness and I will tell you why.

With the 3rd birthday of Plum + Sparrow fast approaching ( and my 37th birthday, wootwoot)

I can't help but look back and think of the very beginning, when this was all just an idea, and reflect on this 3 year journey.  There have been lots of highs and LOTS of lows. Tears of joy and tears of sadness. Let's just be real here and say it hasn't all been rainbows and butterflies. There has been struggle, and boy is that struggle real.

Weaved into it all however, is happiness.

If I'm being completely open and honest, it's been hard to truly embrace, feel and enjoy the happy.  I've been too busy chasing the next goal or milestone. Not just in my business life but in my personal life as well. I kept saying things like "once I achieve this in P+S, I'll be happy" or "once I lose this last 15 lbs, I'll be happy".

The "once I's" slowly crept in and started taking over my happy. I kept looking at my happiness as a destination rather than an experience or journey. I lost sight of the everyday life I had filled with love, grace and gratitude.

I do believe that we can reach a constant state of happiness, no matter what is happening around you.

How do we do that?  Simple. Stay off social media. Ha, I'm kidding!

I think we achieve a constant state of happiness by cultivating an attitude of gratitude, by being present, compassionate towards others.. by confronting challenges with a deep breath and faith and a reminder that your happiness comes before reacting.

By remembering what is important to you, by being kind to your body and taking things at your own pace. By remembering that what is good for someone else may not be good for you, and that is OK.

By remembering that there is no shame in asking for help, by doing what you love and remembering that no matter the circumstances, you always have a choice.....

To find joy and gratitude in what life is really all about -- LIVING!

Go and enjoy this journey we're on. Live it and love it and

Just Be....Happy

xoxo Dianna
